HUD ENGINEERING CERTIFICATE

For FHA loans involving manufactured homes, an Engineer's Certificate is a mandatory requirement set forth by the FHA to guarantee the structural soundness of the manufactured home's foundation, thus reducing their associated risk. As stipulated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines, this certification must adhere to the Permanent Foundation Guide for Manufactured Housing (PFGMH) manual.

The standard practice within the industry for the engineer's certificate involves confirming the "presence of foundation components." Ideally, our objective is to conduct a thorough evaluation of numerous foundation parameters and compare their values against those specified in the PFGMH manual. This evaluation includes verifying the dimensions and spacing of support piers, as well as the dimensions and spacing of vertical and horizontal anchorage components. Furthermore, we assess whether the capacity of the manufactured home foundation components exceed the expected loads that may be encountered throughout its lifespan.
