GENERAL HOME INSPECTION

A general home inspection is a thorough examination of a residential property's overall condition. The inspector will check for any major issues and potential problems with the property. The Standards of Practice for home inspections outlines the specific areas and systems that must be inspected during a home inspection. The Standards of Practice includes the following:

  • The structural components of the home, including the foundation, framing, and roof structure.

  • The exterior of the home, including the walls, windows, doors, and eaves.

  • The roofing system, including the shingles, flashing, and gutters.

  • The electrical system, including the service entrance, panels, and wiring.

  • The heating and cooling systems, including the furnace, air conditioner, and ductwork.

  • The plumbing system, including the water supply, drainage, and waste systems.

  • The interior of the home, including the walls, floors, ceilings, and stairs.

  • The appliances, including the oven, range, dishwasher, and garbage disposal.

  • The attic, including the ventilation, insulation, and framing.

  • The crawl space, including the ventilation, insulation, and framing.

  • The garage, including the door opener, safety sensor, and fire separation.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

  • Book an inspection via phone or email.

  • You are welcomed to join the inspector during the inspection.

  • The inspector will evaluate the current condition, operation, and function of major elements of the property. 

  • A detailed report with descriptive overview and pictures of your home will be provided. 

  • Reports will be provided within 24-Hours after inspection.
